Aftercare: the secret to smoother sugaring results

Why aftercare matters

Sugaring can remove hairs as short as 2–3 mm, but only when the follicle is clear. Dry skin and built-up keratin make it harder for the paste to reach the hair, which can leave a few short hairs behind.

A simple routine between visits keeps your skin soft, supple and ready for your next appointment.

Keep your skin hydrated

Moisturise every morning and evening with a light, fragrance-free lotion. Hydrated skin is more flexible, which makes hair removal more comfortable and helps prevent ingrown hairs.

Drinking plenty of water supports your skin from the inside too.

Exfoliate, but gently

Two or three times a week, use a gentle scrub to lift away dead skin cells. Skip exfoliation for three days before and after your treatment to give your skin time to rest.

Avoid irritants for 48 hours

Right after sugaring your pores are open. For the first two days, avoid saunas, hot baths, swimming pools, intense workouts and tight clothing. Your sugarist will give you a short aftercare guide at the end of every visit.
